The evidence

Two suspects share one file. Hunt was questioned where he was found — on an old rail cart, eating lunch with the dog — and the interview ended with him in an ambulance. The detective came away with almost nothing from the conversation and one thing from the ground: a leather-bound book, dropped in the scuffle. Its cover, its title card, a sheet headed “The Hoard,” a printed maze and the two written pages inside it are all reproduced below, at full size.
